1. Accreditation Categories

Media Pass: Reserved for professional journalists, podcasters, photographers, and content creators from established media organizations with regular publication schedules and editorial oversight.

Marketing Partners: Reserved exclusively for top-tier media organisations and content creators who meet stringent reach and engagement requirements. This is not a general application category.

KOLs: Reserved for individual Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and influential content creators who maintain high domain credibility and significant following, but may not be affiliated with recognised media outlets. This includes Twitter thought leaders, independent Substack writers, and other trusted individual influencers. This category receives a General Pass.

2. Media Principles

Editors of publications and media agencies are requested to take note of the following principles to ensure that media accreditation is restricted to professional media personnel with an established cadence of industry-relevant content production:

  • The organiser considers the Media Pass to be a working tool to be used only by bona fide members of the press.
  • Marketing personnel, sub-editors, staff of the publication’s secretariat, etc. cannot be accredited as media.
  • Invitation letters issued by sponsors or speakers, without the approval of TOKEN2049, does not guarantee media accreditation.
  • The organiser will only accredit publications, podcasters, and professional bloggers/vloggers:
    • With a circulation size and quality that fulfil the criteria of the organiser
    • With a format and quality that fulfil the criteria of the organiser
    • With a sizeable following and sphere of influence, areas of interest and quality that fulfil the criteria of the organiser
  • Internal company publications cannot be accredited as media. However, at the sole discretion of the organiser, and where the quality and circulation criteria justify the organiser’s consideration, such publications may be eligible for accreditation on a case-by-case basis.
  • Under no circumstance will advertising and public relations agencies (or similar companies and organisations) be accredited as media, nor will the organiser issue any media accreditation to representatives of sponsors, suppliers and exhibitors.
  • Members of the media who obtain or purchase general tickets via their own means, will not be granted a Media Pass.
  • It should be noted that no double accreditation is allowed (e.g. as media and as exhibitor).

3. KOL Principles

Individual thought leaders and KOLs may qualify for a General Pass based on:

  • Demonstrated expertise and credibility in crypto/blockchain/fintech domains
  • Substantial and engaged following across relevant platforms
  • Consistent, high-quality content production with established cadence
  • Recognition as a trusted voice within the industry

Note: Thought leaders seeking referral and commission programs should apply through affiliate channels rather than accreditation.

4. Criteria for Media Accreditation

  • The organiser prioritises accreditation for established media organizations with proven high-quality coverage, top-tier influencers with substantial and engaged audiences, as well as content creators who can demonstrate measurable impact and reach.
  • Kindly note that applications are highly competitive. The organiser reserves the right to reject any applications that are either incomplete, late or do not fulfil the criteria obligations.

    • Professional podcasts/newsletters/blogs must be active in the most recent six (6) months, with a minimum of one (1) published post per month relating to the relevant areas of interest of the events
